What is the Naabathon?

The Naabathon is the first Star Atlas ecosystem Hackathon, sponsored by the Punaabs of Ogrika Industries. During the event, the subscribed teams will compete by submitting new applications that interact with the Star Atlas existing programs in different award categories for prizes.

Why is it called the Naabathon?

Great question! The name is an homage to the gracious Punaabs of Ogrika Harbors, who accepted the leading sponsorship of our very first hackathon! The Punaab species, as a whole, are naturally passionate about supporting innovation, so they didn’t hesitate to jump in right away and support this event. Cheers to our little fellows!

What are the prizes?

$25k is the total asset value provided by ATMTA, divided into two ships: an Ogrika Sunpaa ($9600) for the overall winner and an Ogrika Tursic ($2475) for each category winner. Alongside other prizes awarded by other Naabathon sponsors for a total of $50,000 in prizes.

When is the Naabathon taking place?

The Naabathon starts on July 24th with the opening of inscriptions for the teams for each award category and goes to September 7th, with the last day for submissions. From September 7th to September 20th, the judges will evaluate the submissions, and the Naabathon will conclude with a live event during the Star Atlas Summit on September 21st, where the winners of each category will be announced.

Where is the Naabathon taking place?

The Naabathon is a digital event, so teams worldwide and within the Galia Expanse may apply regardless of location. Nevertheless, the winners will be announced during a physical celebration ceremony at the Star Atlas Impact Summit on September 21st in Singapore.

What are the general requirements for competing?

All participant teams must adhere to the following requirements independent of the categories that they are going to compete:
The team captain must complete Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation and fulfill the following steps:
a) Fill the Submission Form linked at the beginning of the page
b) Answer all questions formulated by the judging panel.

Is there a maximum team size?

You can inscribe and work with as many people as you want.

Can I monetize my application for my gain?

Absolutely, as long as you follow the rules for using Star Atlas IP established here.

What assets will be provided to contestants?

Participants are entitled to use all the assets and information specified in https://build.staratlas.com/ and https://galaxy.staratlas.com/items, which are free to use.

How do you integrate apps with the star atlas game economy?

We have guides that show how to compose transactions targeting SA on-chain systems at https://build.staratlas.com. The open-source Typescript bindings module (or partial C++ library) should get any developer started relatively quickly.

Is leveraging AI tools for art or code production okay?

Yes, you are encouraged if you can achieve your intended quality.

Can multiple apps be built and used as separate contest submissions?

Yes, as many different apps as you’d like.

Who is going to judge the Naabathon applications?

A panel of ATMTA employees and independent judges will be acting as the judges of the Naabathon.
